Through the use of team building and cooperative games I will seek to make physical education simple and fun, while instilling values such as sportsmanship, patience, and determination in all my students.
MY STORY
I was inspired to pursue a career as a Health and Physical education by one of my middle school Physical Education. His ability to show empathy, patients, and being concerned was instrumental in helping me Adjust to life as a Student in America. I moved to this country as a fourteen year old not knowing what expect, I wasn’t ready for the culture shock that I received. This experience turned me into a completely different person I became shy and isolated myself form those around me. Being the only teacher who cared enough to make an extra effort to help a student acclimatize to their new environment Mr. O’Connor was able to help me become more comfortable with my surrounding. Just like he was able to do for me, I feel I am able to do the same for my students in the future. The key to being an effective teacher is being adaptable any situation as well as having the ability to empathize with other in an effort to help. Mr. O’Connor embodied that and so will I.
After completing a successful Student teaching experience with the Fort Lee School district I now know that I possess the ability to provide adequate instruction to diverse groups and sustain a nurturing learning environment that suits all levels of students’ abilities. I consider myself well versed in creating lessons that maintains the interest of students. I am capable of educating the whole child and confident in my ability’s to utilize a variety of teaching techniques that meets all their individual needs. One’s ability to show adaptability and a willingness to work with others in order to ensure the success of students is crucial; with my diverse selection of interdisciplinary lessons and ideas, I believe will enable me to be an excellent Health and Physical Education teacher.
